Kevin Chappell, PE

Kevin Chappell is a licensed professional engineer in the states of California and Nevada. He brings a strong background in structural engineering analysis, design, and consulting having worked on a wide variety of projects in the residential, commercial, institutional, and hospitality sectors. Kevin has experience with conventional construction materials such as steel, concrete, masonry, and wood as well as having worked on projects utilizing a variety of less traditional materials and construction techniques.

Kevin studied structural engineering at Texas Tech University. During his time in college, he also worked as a surveyor, civil engineering technician, and a residential framer. These experiences gave him a great appreciation for constructability and underscored the importance of creating designs that translate to real world solutions. Kevin developed structural engineering software after college, but soon realized his true passion was working directly with clients to achieve efficient, economical, and elegant design solutions. He moved to Reno, NV in the summer of 2005 to work for a highly-regarded structural engineering consulting firm. He has since worked on literally hundreds of projects in the Reno-Tahoe area (where he developed his expertise in snow country design) and throughout the Western United States. Kevin works with clients from the conceptual/schematic phase, through design and permitting, until construction is complete. He takes great pride in his work and the relationships he develops along the way!

Outside the office, Kevin enjoys spending time with his growing family. He appreciates the variety of outdoor activities the Lake Tahoe area has to offer and truly enjoys the Tahoe lifestyle. He is an avid Giants baseball fan and is consumed with Texas Tech football in the fall.
