The GDG structural group has provided consulting on a wide array of commercial structures. We have a great deal of experience designing with materials and methods used for commercial buildings, whether they are wood-framed, structural steel, masonry, or concrete.

GDG engineers have engineered long span curved glulam beams and heavy timber framed buildings. We have designed multi-story steel frames using the latest technology whether it is reduced section (dog-bone) moment frames or buckling restrained (unbonded) braced frames. We have expertise in concrete construction, including concrete shearwalls and concrete moment frames. We also have experience designing concrete slabs using the latest methodologies.

GDG has engineered tenant improvements and anchorage of non-structural elements. GDG engineers have performed seismic analyses on such varied buildings as the Grand Sierra Casino and Hotel and United Nations Secretariat. We have experience seismically upgrading office buildings, parking garages, and shopping malls.
